Sewer & Water Line Installation

Sewer & Water Line Installation, Repair & Emergency Service

New installations, emergency repairs, and replacements for municipal and private sewer and water systems throughout the Northern Sacramento Valley.

Reliable sewer and water infrastructure is essential for every community, and Walberg, Inc. has been installing, repairing, and replacing sewer and water lines for municipal agencies, commercial properties, and private landowners across Northern California since 1999. Our underground utility crews are experienced with every aspect of sewer and water line work, from new main installations and service laterals to emergency repairs on failing or damaged lines that demand immediate response.

We maintain strong working relationships with municipalities throughout our service area, which has resulted in our selection for critical emergency repair projects when infrastructure failures demand fast, reliable response. Recent emergency projects include the City of Chico Emergency Sewer Repair, the City of Red Bluff Water Line Emergency, and the St. Elizabeth's Emergency Water Line Repair. These projects required rapid mobilization, after-hours work, and close coordination with city engineering departments and public works staff. Our ability to respond quickly with company-owned equipment and experienced operators is why municipalities continue to rely on Walberg, Inc. for their most urgent infrastructure needs.

Beyond emergency work, we install new sewer and water systems for residential subdivisions, commercial developments, and agricultural operations. Our recent project portfolio includes the Benicia Water Meter Installs and the ACC Williams Water Line Install, both of which required precise installation to meet municipal standards and pass rigorous pressure testing and inspection protocols. We handle all aspects of the work including trenching, bedding preparation, pipe installation, backfill and compaction, surface restoration, and coordination with testing and inspection services.

As a federal USDA contract holder and licensed general engineering contractor (CSLB #898860), Walberg, Inc. meets the bonding, insurance, and safety requirements demanded by public agency projects. Our DOSH certification ensures compliance with Cal/OSHA trench safety regulations, and our experienced operators understand the critical importance of proper shoring, dewatering, and compaction when working with underground utilities. Whether your project is a single water service connection or miles of new sewer main, we have the capability and credentials to deliver it safely and correctly.

OUR PROCESS

How we deliver sewer & water line installation.

01

Project Assessment & Engineering Review

We review project plans and specifications, coordinate with the municipal engineering department, identify utility conflicts and access constraints, and develop an installation plan that meets all applicable standards and codes.

02

Permitting & Utility Coordination

We secure encroachment permits, coordinate with USA North 811 for utility locates, arrange traffic control if working in public rights-of-way, and schedule inspections with the governing agency. For emergency repairs, we coordinate these steps on an expedited basis.

03

Trenching, Installation & Testing

Our crews excavate the trench, install shoring as required, place bedding material, install pipe to grade and alignment, backfill in compacted lifts, and coordinate pressure testing and video inspection to verify the installation meets specifications.

04

Surface Restoration & Final Inspection

We restore all disturbed surfaces including pavement, sidewalks, and landscaping to pre-construction condition or better. Final as-built documentation is provided, and we coordinate the final inspection with the governing agency for acceptance.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

For municipal and critical infrastructure emergencies, we can typically have a crew on site within hours of receiving the call. Our fleet of company-owned equipment eliminates rental delays, and our experienced operators are available for after-hours emergency response when public safety or property damage is at risk.

We install all pipe materials commonly specified by municipal agencies and engineers, including PVC, ductile iron, HDPE, and ABS. The pipe material selection is typically determined by the project engineer or municipal standards. We are experienced with all common joining methods and can handle pipes ranging from small service laterals to large trunk mains.

Not always. The extent of surface disruption depends on the location and nature of the repair. Some repairs can be made with a single excavation point, while others may require a longer trench. We always restore pavement and surfaces to pre-construction condition after the repair is complete, and we work to minimize disruption to traffic and neighboring properties.

Water lines are typically buried 3 to 4 feet deep in our area to protect against surface loads and freezing. Sewer lines are generally deeper, often 4 to 8 feet or more, as they rely on gravity flow and must maintain minimum slopes. Exact depths are determined by the project engineer based on site conditions and connection points.

Yes, we regularly perform tie-ins to existing municipal sewer and water systems for new construction projects. This includes tapping the main line, installing the service lateral to the building, and coordinating the required inspections with the local utility department. We handle all permitting and encroachment requirements.
